Another little jewel in Zeeheldenkwartier, Su-Ann’s Woonsfeer is one of the most charming furniture stores I’ve seen in a long time.
Dustin and I had walked by several times since we moved to The Hague, but for some reason (we had an appointment and we were running late, it was Sunday or late at night and the store was closed) we never seemed to find the time to go in and explore it. A chilly and sunny Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago, we finally made it into the store. It’s a family business and we were greeted by the owners’ daughter who answered our questions about some of our favorite pieces: a beautiful vintage coal stove, a stunning antiqued blue cabinet and a funky wooden cupboard for bread with a built-in cutting board.
Since we didn’t have our camera with us, we went by again today. We chatted with owners Christine and Peter while Dustin took some pictures. Named after Christine’s late mother, Su-Ann’s Woonsfeer opened its doors nine months ago. Even if you’re not looking for large furniture items, don’t miss their plethora of pretty little treasures.
This year their collection will be full of retro pieces from the 1950s and 60s. Christine will walk you through the different styles in the store and, if you are not quite sure how to best decorate your home, she also offers her services as an interior designer.
“You shouldn’t be scared of mixing styles” Christine says, “your home should reflect your own style and personality”.
